Dhoni was born on 7th July 1981 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. He comes from a middle-class family and his father worked in a junior management position in MECON. Dhoni started playing cricket at a young age and was selected for the Central Coal Fields Limited (CCL) team at the age of 18. He played for the team from 1998 to 1999 and then moved to the Bihar cricket team in 1999.

Dhoni made his debut for the Indian cricket team in December 2004 in an ODI against Bangladesh. However, he did not have a great start to his international career and was dropped from the team. He made a comeback in 2005 and played a crucial role in India's victory in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20 tournament.

Captaincy and Achievements:

Dhoni was appointed as the captain of the Indian cricket team in 2007 and he led the team to victory in the inaugural World Twenty20 in South Africa. He went on to lead the team to victory in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, which was India's first World Cup win in 28 years.
